Information You Enter
Search Terms
When a visitor enters text into the sponsored search widget, the information is sent to the outside provider that runs it. That company processes the request under its own privacy policy. Berkeley County Warrant Records does not maintain an official warrant search system or a database of search results.
Messages
If you send a message through a contact option that is made available, the information in it may be kept so a reply can be sent. Do not include a Social Security number, birth date, case detail, or other sensitive data in an ordinary message. A public agency should receive a record request through its stated official route.
Technical Visit Information
Like many websites, a page request may generate technical data such as an IP address, browser type, device or operating-system details, pages viewed, referral source, and timestamps. These details can help with site operation, security, and performance. This reference does not use those details to create a warrant file about a visitor.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies or similar tools may be used by the site, its analytics providers, or advertising partners to measure visits and serve ads. Browser settings can block or clear cookies. Some site or third-party features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Site Data May Be Used
Technical information may support basic operation, page-performance review, error troubleshooting, analytics, or advertising. Search terms entered into a sponsored widget are handled by that provider under its own terms. This site does not use visitor data to assemble official court records or a consumer report.
No Warrant Database Is Stored Here
Berkeley County Warrant Records does not host, compile, or sell a database of active warrants or individual case files. It provides public instructions for reaching the Berkeley County Clerk, Magistrate and municipal courts, the Sheriff's Records office, and state court systems. Those government offices maintain their own records and access rules.
The South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, S.C. Code sections 30-4-10 and following, applies to public records held by public bodies subject to that law. It does not turn this private site into a government records custodian.
Outside Search Providers
The sponsored widget is operated by an outside company. Information entered there is subject to the provider's own collection, use, retention, and sharing terms. Berkeley County Warrant Records does not control the provider's results or data practices. Read the provider's privacy notice before entering information.
Links to Other Services
Pages may link to the South Carolina Judicial Branch, Berkeley County, the Sheriff's Office, a municipal court, or another outside resource. Once you leave this site, the linked service's privacy and use terms apply. Review them before submitting information.
Advertising and analytics providers may use their own tools to measure activity across sites. Those systems are managed by the providers, not by this reference.
Who May Receive Information
This site does not sell visitor information. Depending on how a visitor uses the pages, information may be processed by:
- The third-party search company receiving widget entries.
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and site performance.
- Advertising partners displaying sponsored content.
- A government body when a valid legal demand requires disclosure.
Each outside company applies its own terms to information it receives.
Protecting Information
Reasonable technical and administrative steps are used to protect information handled by this site. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive court or personal data through a general message or a third-party service without first reviewing that service's terms.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek personal details from children under 18. South Carolina juvenile court records have separate confidentiality protections. Do not submit a minor's name or case details through the search widget or a public message.
Privacy Requests and South Carolina Law
South Carolina's Freedom of Information Act, S.C. Code sections 30-4-10 et seq., concerns public records held by government bodies, subject to exemptions and procedures. It is not a general visitor-data access or deletion law for this privately operated site. The county's official FOIA portal is for county-held records.
You can manage many cookies through your browser. If an outside search provider received your information, use that provider's privacy notice and request process. Do not send sensitive case information in a general request.
Policy Updates
This policy may be revised when site features or applicable practices change. The current text will appear here after an update. Review it again before using a sponsored widget or sharing information.
